In this in-process series, "Shadow Boxes", I collaborate with veterans and families to share their experiences through altered portraits, sounds bites, and interviews. Veterans are first photographed, and then altered their own portraits as a means of storytelling and mark-making. The final image is then transferred onto handmade rag paper created from worn military uniforms. This is an on-going project and I am actively seeking veterans and family members to work with. Please contact me if you are interested in being a part of this work.
